Any one from IBM ?
I went through the entire recruitment process and got selected for IBM ISL. Now I am being told by the HR that they are unable to release offer as there is a hiring freeze.
Can any one please tell me if its correct or just an excuse not to give me offer. If its true, when will this freeze be removed?

Hi,
I'm also in similar position. Where my tasks involve getting alignment and depending on the other teams output we need to re adjust .
This is how I do it and learning along the way
1. Early detection or surfacing the dependency. Get the JIRA tickets or any other means of documentation.
2. Link those tickets and surface in thr meetings that these are from other teams and depends on their delivery.
3. Align with the other team and get expected dates. Also find a point of contact. Convey the same to own team and make it clear that only after other team delives and we can pick it up. Or whatever can be picked up independently.
4. Also make api contracts or mutual interfaces early in the process. Can be adjusted later
5. Before every weekly planning or whatever the cadence is. Have a check in with other teams progress. Here is the heavy lifting, you may need to get technical in the other teams solution since you need to have a good idea if they are making progress.
6. The main trick is to let the management know that it's being tracked and waiting for completion on other team. Please surface it in all meetings. Also the additional effort from your end is to sense the timeline and raise as a risk to your manager like " they wete supposed to give by date abc, but they may not be making progress. Can you help us get clarity" the intention is not to blame the other teams. But get the priority alignment for other team also.
After all this, when delay actually happens you can say, hey it was raised but we need other teams output.
I have been burnt before. Also know that such dependency are always uncertain. And your team doesn't have visibility, so it falls on you to highlight..
