Most Sales people would transition to marketing specialist or any strategist position. I came from Sales and working as a corporate strategist after being a sales executive fits like a cork in a bottle.

If you can sell, you can sell, so you should have no problem transferring to a different sector. Or are you referring to an exit from sales altogether?

Probably some sort of HR Coordinator or Recruiting Coordinator role would work with sales experience. Staffing would be an easy career to transition to too.

I had a buddy exit sales for Project Management. Does pretty well for himself and makes 125k plus bonuses.

May I ask why you do not like sales?

You can function in the administrative division easily with all the sales skills you have. More organization and more on the line but if you're successful in sales, you've got this.

Sales operations

Im in Sales and I’m looking to transition into a Customer Success role. Rather sell tech vs. cars.

I have a friend who also worked as an SDR for a few years before he transitioned to tech, he's a game dev now. He learned everything from scratch. The thing with him was that he was so passionate about it that he did not mind the obstacles that he had to encounter.

Hello all. Looking for thoughts and opinions. I’ve been a sales manager with a small company (I refuse to say it is a start up anymore since they bring in several million in ARR). I’ve been with them for a year and a half. I started at 50k and now make 63k. I am a full-cycle sales manager…the company does not believe in the use of BDRs. There’s no opportunity for growth. Is my salary fair (per MA standards)? I was promised high OTE… but with no marketing team I also hardly get leads.

Know for a fact I do not want to do litigation after one year. Want to try transactional work because I eventually would like to go in house. Firm reluctant to move me around right now because there’s a lot of work in litigation. I don’t want to wait around hoping they will put me in another practice area and jeopardizing my chances at an in-house position. Should I be looking for new jobs?

Hi! I'm looking at moving to a new role outside my organization. I'm seeing A LOT of interesting positions opening up with @Microsoft (Customer Success Manager, Account Executive, Sales Specialist etc). My experience and core strengths do align these roles but I don't have tech experience. If you’re a Microsoft recruiter or are currently in these roles I'd love to hear your feedback on transitioning to this space. Trying to apply for another position at the same company but my boss told me explicitly that if they find out people on our team are looking for other jobs, they will stop giving that person raises, promotions, bonuses, & access to opportunities. I have spoken with the hiring manager for the new position and he just asked me if I have notified my current manager. Not sure how to navigate this tricky situation. I keep hiring sales people who are super enthusiastic and overpromising on what they deliver. I put them through a trial month (no base + commission only) and they do not close a single deal, Even though the commission structure is amazing and I’m incentivizing them through the roof. We experienced sales people are asking for a base and commission but I’m scared that I’ll end up having a base and the same thing will end up happening. What am I doing wrong?

Everything used to pay $350k on target earnings. Tech is booming but I am noticing pay has dropped substantially despite inflation. I am seeing $300k ote and most roles are set up to not hit plan. Does anyone have insight here? It sends a clear message. Just thinking experienced sellers are going to leave or pivot because they follow the money and they are going to get less experienced sellers.
