Does JPMorgan entertain counter offers ?
I have an offer of 18.5 lpa including bonus.
At the time of HR discussion, I was under the impression that this will be 18.5 fixed + bonus
I already have 19.5 fixed CTC offer from Emids and Indegene is ready to pay 23 lpa including joining Bonus.
I am keen to join JP morgan but I want to negotiate the offered CTC.
During HR discussion, HR said they'll not entertain any counter offers later on

How many hours a week do you ACTUALLY work?
Toronto ad fish 🤠 I’ve spent most of my career working as a copywriter in London (6 years here, 2 years Toronto) and the market is pretty different here. I’m planning on moving back home but wondered….how do you find work in Toronto? Agencies barely post openings, is the recruiter scene strong? Is it mostly who you know?

This, seriously.
This is fishbowl, we don't make fun of people here unless they really like hot tubs !
I don’t have an answer for you. But I will reiterate the common saying “the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.”
I’m a Canadian who’s actively trying to move out of here due to a lack of work opportunities. In fact, I’d rather be in the US: at least there’s high paying jobs still there.
I was laid off during the post pandemic recession in 2023. Since then I haven’t had a full-time job with benefits. I had 3 freelance stints: one for 2 days, one for a year, one for 6 months.
No where’s perfect. Just try to appreciate what you have, and where you are.

I’m 2 months late on my rent and my landlord served me an N4 (eviction).
Got paid a $1K project, but my cat got sick and had to pay $1,2k vet bill.
It’s really hard here too.

Right now probably isn’t the best time because there’s waaaaay more job seekers than jobs.
I’m not legal expert, but I’d try to get on with an agency that has a Canadian office, then try to transfer after a year or so. (But know that you’ll have to take a salary reduction)
Hi,
I’ve been in your shoes. Here’s how you do it:
1. Have a killer book
2. Find a recruiter willing to rep you/reach out to agencies directly
3. Once you got an interest from an agency they will provide you with your work visa
Best of luck
Just want to say good luck. I don’t blame you for wanting to get out of there

Are you single? 🇨🇦 here, would love a US Visa. So much more work opportunities & stronger dollar.
