I went from OMD to Publicis and love Publicis way more the Omnicom as a holding group. OMD isn’t that terrible I wouldn’t say it’s the best though. The salary increase and promotion would definitely be worth it anyway.
can confirm Publicis is solid
There is more variance between teams at holdcos than there is among the holdcos themselves.
Your client and functional team will make or break your experience.
Let’s be very, VERY clear. Everywhere you go, will be toxic or horrible, and no matter what you get paid at first, you will be underpaid within 2-3 years.
It does not matter. Every place is making the same insidiously implemented changes.
Guide your choices by these principles:
- unless a place is openly discussing YOY increases and compensation benefits as part of their recruitment strategy, you won’t get any of that after joining.
-take the bag, and be prepared to leave after a year if it sucks to be there, and see what you can get at the next place.
-if money isn’t an issue that is detrimental to your well-being, stay where you have decent work life balance and like your people. That will also change every 5 years no matter where you are.
Everything else is just different branding. Is it really THAT different whether you work at McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy’s, In and Out burger or Taco Bell? It’s the same job with different logo and kitchen set up. Apply that mentality to what we do and protect yourself
