But would it continue to have inappropriate political posts, “inspiring” leadership insights, and physical fitness videos randomly through the day? Could it show me the exact same ads 7,000 times in a row? Would it display posts that have not been relevant for weeks? Could financial advisors reach out to ask for “a coffee with no strings attached” even though you indicate you’re not interested? Those are LinkedIn’s main features; people lying about their experience is the least of its problem.
These are the real problems with LinkedIn. Lying/exaggerating on your resume is a tradition and verification should be baked into any hiring process. Having to deal with scammy people using LinkedIn to grift is an actual problem.
i think people wouldnt go on that linkedin as much. remember, linkedin is also a social platform. word by word role titles and tenure don't tell the true stories either, some actually limit what you actually do
This is why HR teams call each other as part of the screening process.
I feel like, in general, too many rules leads to too many people playacting as secret police

I love the associates (and occasional Manager) that go out and brand themselves like "M&A Executive" when they've literally been in the role only 2 to 3 years and still dont know what they dont know.
Titles are absolutely meaningless in 2026.
