I got my H1B approved this year. Recently got my I797B (Consular Processing not COS). Can I switch employer before Oct 1st using this I797B form or do I need to get stamping done? Also, what happens to my approved I797B if I get laid off before Oct 1st? My current OPT will end in next few months. Just preparing myself in case of a layoff. Thanks!
Has anyone made the transition out of FP&A? I’ve been in FP&A at a financial services firm for over 10 years. Recently have felt very unmotivated and unhappy. The work hasn’t changed. I think I’m just in a rut and need to change environment and the people I interact with. I’m also very tired of the month end cycle and cadence. What are some options to go into?
Been dating this guy for 3 years and it’s time for us to make a decision to get engaged. He seems completely sure about us; but I don’t. I don’t think I love him as much as he loves me and I’m confuse

I like being social, so would ideally be eyeing lively neighborhoods with fellow yuppies. Also trying to figure out if having a car makes sense in the city. Are places with garages hard to come by? Any recs?

I’m leaving my job that I have been at for seven months because I found a similar role that pays way more plus has better benefits. I want to leave on good terms because it’s been a good job and my boss is super low-key. I just wish I had done more salary research before taking this job to negotiate better pay. What should I tell my boss?
For those on anxiety meds 💊 I’m diagnosed with GAD as well as ADHD and my anxiety has become paralyzing lately. I’m worried that my anxiety will get better with meds but then my ADHD will get worse, since my anxiety helps me compensate for my ADHD symptoms. Does anyone have experience with this?

Can anyone tell me what the approximate salary expectation would be for a second year associate at Fisher and Phillips (or an equivalent employment and labor firm)? If so, please let me know what market the estimate is based from (even if it’s a general “large city, small, or midsized city” reference). Thanks.

Tech companies and startups offer equity RSUs/options when you join with a 4 year vest. Do they refresh those annually or do they only give you additional equity in year 3 or 4 when the initial grant expires? I’m IB/PE associate looking to move.
I’m trying to transfer departments at my company and I talked to the MD of the department i wanna transfer to, and told him working remotely is a requirement to me, and he said he’s not sure if that’s possible, and that would depend on HR and the hiring manager. He still forwarded my resume to HR and I got an interview. How should I negotiate to make the role fully remote?
Edward Jones advisor with 30 million AUM and roughly 250k gross production. Been there for almost 4 years. Got an offer at Merrill Lynch to take over a 100 million dollar retirement transition plan in 5 years, or to join a 5 person Merrill Lynch team that manages a lot.
Pros to EJ: Have my own office, a year or two away from partnership, great office setting and client satisfaction.
Pros to Merrill: Bump in compensation, additional tools and services w banking, ability to take over assets.
Just accepted a job offer today and I’m so nervous to tell my current manager I’m leaving. She is very unapproachable and a little toxic. Scares me, honestly. Really want to just leave and send a resignation email on the way out of the parking lot but I know that is not ethical lol. Need strength and courage
Coming out of UG, I accepted my first job b/c I thought I had to based on status of other interviews. I ended up quitting after 8 weeks in favor of an opportunity I perceived to be better, but took longer to get. 7 months into the new gig, I am NOT happy. Considering this is technically my second job out of school, how long should I stick around before trying to leave without looking like a total scumbag opportunist?
I’ve been in non-profit finance for over 6 years, now looking to go into compliance. I’ll appreciate any advice I can get.
I joined a later stage startup as a corporate strategy “manager”. I put manager in quotes as there’s no one else in strategy. It was fun the first 6 months when I helped raise equity and create an initial 5 year plan, but for the past 2-3 months I’ve been essentially doing FP&A work. What kind of opportunities are out there after this one?
