I got my H1B approved this year. Recently got my I797B (Consular Processing not COS). Can I switch employer before Oct 1st using this I797B form or do I need to get stamping done? Also, what happens to my approved I797B if I get laid off before Oct 1st? My current OPT will end in next few months. Just preparing myself in case of a layoff. Thanks!

Has anyone made the transition out of FP&A? I’ve been in FP&A at a financial services firm for over 10 years. Recently have felt very unmotivated and unhappy. The work hasn’t changed. I think I’m just in a rut and need to change environment and the people I interact with. I’m also very tired of the month end cycle and cadence. What are some options to go into?

For those on anxiety meds 💊 I’m diagnosed with GAD as well as ADHD and my anxiety has become paralyzing lately. I’m worried that my anxiety will get better with meds but then my ADHD will get worse, since my anxiety helps me compensate for my ADHD symptoms. Does anyone have experience with this?

I’m trying to transfer departments at my company and I talked to the MD of the department i wanna transfer to, and told him working remotely is a requirement to me, and he said he’s not sure if that’s possible, and that would depend on HR and the hiring manager. Edward Jones advisor with 30 million AUM and roughly 250k gross production. Been there for almost 4 years. Got an offer at Merrill Lynch to take over a 100 million dollar retirement transition plan in 5 years, or to join a 5 person Merrill Lynch team that manages a lot.

Pros to EJ: Have my own office, a year or two away from partnership, great office setting and client satisfaction.

Pros to Merrill: Bump in compensation, additional tools and services w banking, ability to take over assets.

Coming out of UG, I accepted my first job b/c I thought I had to based on status of other interviews.
