Hi All,
I joined Tech Mahindra for 5 days only and didn't find suitable timing for my project and emailed resignation mail to manager and HR. After that HR asked me to resign over portal but at the same time blocked my portal. After requesting many times they didn't unblock my portal and pretended like they want to unblock but there is some issue going on and marked my profile absconded. I have cleared fnf but they are not providing reliving letter but added pf amount also. What to do?

I say yes this is possible but now’s your last chance. At Google we look for cultural fit that is more difficult to find as folks spend more of their careers outside tech.
I make 285 TC in a non-tech role and I’m 28. My next two promotions would be good for about 30-40% (all equity) and should take 3 years each. TLDR you’d be looking at a cut in base but an increase overall.
Like partnership, these promotions are not guaranteed. You have to seek and deliver the impact, & the opportunities to do so are not made available to everyone.

My thoughts exactly EY1. Unfortunately, at SM level you're sort of priced out of the market unless you get a VP or Senior Director type role. Don't think this is likely from FAANG coming straight from consulting. I'd focus on other exit ops
Out of curiosity, what would you do at FAANG that you think would match salary wise?
Serious question. Wasn't funny. Was looking for a role/function/area of expertise. Straight up curious yo.
At the D or SM level it really becomes about preparing yourself for partner. Yes you will learn skills about relationships, selling, leading multiple teams or projects, etc but at end of day it is partner prep which is very specific to consulting. If you don’t want to do consulting forever sticking around too long at D or SM level is probably not adding near as much value as actually just working in that industry/FANG role
It may not be easy to break into FAANG, but the question is if I can for at least matching comp, is this a good point in ones career to make the jump. Just looking for general perspectives - what factors related to FAANG jobs vs. consulting career trajectory should I consider? I know everyone’s situation is unique so not everything may apply
Not really experienced, but I'll ask anyway: you're 6 years away from partner. If you move into FAANG, where will you be in 6 years?
Then, you have your answer?
How do you know if you’re pre partner rank? And at pre partner, still at least 6 years to go to make partner?
Ah, I thought OP was implying that as SM, there individual levels within SM and pre-partner was one of those levels
When does it become too hard to leave after Manager? And when best time to leave Senior Associate?
I think at this point I would go with the partner or bust mindset unless you don’t think consulting is for you. Use the extra income and savings to invest in side businesses and take risks with your savings. The upside can be $1M> for the last 5/10 years of your career.
The best time to leave is when you get promoted ... every year spent getting promoted is costing you money at this point unless you actually get the promotion (which is by no means guaranteed at B4 / MBB)
^Based on a standard timeline, I assume you’d be a director (equivalent of Consulting Partner)if you perform
2 years L5: ~$200-$350k
2 years L6: ~$350-$500k
2 years L7: ~$500k+
If you were to stay to partner and lateral over, in year one of partnership you may slot in as an L6 (and as some have discussed, there may be a higher bar due to fit)
