What is the biggest piece of advice you’d give someone starting a new role/joining a new team?

Hello everyone. I am currently a HRIS call center rep. I assist clients with payroll, benefits, and platform questions daily. I am looking to move into a position more back office or even customer experience with less constant phone calls. I have over 10 years customer service experience. Any advice on shifting from association law to commercial real estate in FL?

I've been applying to jobs for months but every position wants at least 2yrs of experience in real estate transactions, usually way more. I'm at 1yr+ doing HOA/condo work but have had no opportunity to do real estate transactions like I expected. Seems like the only way to get the experience is to have nailed a big law gig right out of school and get put into that practice.

Just curious to how my firms (wealth management/bank/trust) comp compares with others out there. I received a promotion earlier this year from an Investment Advisor, AVP to Senior Investment Advisor, VP and moved from $110K to $140K ($130 salary + $10K discretionary bonus) all in. By meeting expectations in 2 pay cycles, the base bumps up to $175K + bonus. Grown in this role over about 10 years with the same firm, MBA + CFA; top 10 city and living comfortably as dual income household.

Been on project for 2 months and manager said he doesn't know if I am ready for promotion yet (next talent discussion is July/Aug 2018). Any help on how to right the ship?
