I am a potential international hire at Manager level for tax consulting at EY London (UK&I). I have cleared my interviews and have been told that they are waiting for approval on head-count before making me an offer. Would really like to know how much time this would typically take, and whether there is any talk about a hiring freeze in the new financial year. Any insights regarding this would be great.

Any books/self help materials for someone who is constantly worrying (and waste a lot of unnecessary time)? E.g. No matter if i pass or fail an interview, there is always something to worry about. The worrying/anxiety multiplies when I proceeded further in the interview stages. Now that I signed the offer and is pending background checks, my anxiety is off the roof as it itches closer to my starting date.

The reason I resigned was the sh^^head manager and project.
He said I would be released from project soon and then on bench but after resigning he is saying you have to serve the NP n we cant release early.
This is only option left to get released from this sh^t place

I joined as an SC and wondering if my base salary will be adjusted annually by a fixed % for inflation or a variable % based on performance? Is it feasible to push from promotion from SM to D with under 1 years tenure at the firm, or would that not be entertained? Opportunity in the team, SM grade is over staffed with more coming in, no Directors, and have been high performer (based on metrics, sales and developed strong network)
