Hi folks, how is thoughtworks as an organisation?
Asking because I don't know much about it and have received recruiter's call today. Currently I am working in Deloitte. How is thoughtworks hikes, wlb, does it provide any benefits apart from fixed pay? My research gives me a mixed review: some say it's good, some say that thoughtworks is not stable enough like big 4 or other organisations. Pls help Thoughtworks Deloitte
Blow me one last kiss 😘

One thing to consider is your years. How long total have you been working. If you are around 5-6 years you should at least be at 62k+ in my opinion, more if you are doing that job for a high profit company like banking or real estate. Sadly, non-profits need talent badly but cannot pay well because of donor scrutiny… donors don’t like their money to go to “Administrative Costs” even though they are the lifeblood of the cause…it sounds like it’s time to look into other opportunities- large hospital groups and medical companies pay well - but the content is mind numbing. I’m sure the content at the non profit is positive, fulfilling… that’s the trade off. I got paid a ton to do student loan videos, but the content and legal purview couldn’t fulfill my creatively. It’s always a trade off.
Hope this helps
I actually have 12 years in my field. I've been an editor for 5.
It’s been my experience that in the creative field you almost always have to switch jobs every few years to have your salary keep pace with your experience and responsibilities. Like someone else posted, a nonprofit potentially adds another layer of budgetary constraints on top of that.
Personally, I would come up with a salary number that you feel is realistic for what you’re currently doing. Then, you can adjust that up or down based on the company, benefits, etc. It sounds like you enjoy what you’re doing, you just want fair compensation. No harm in looking elsewhere while working on a salary improvement plan to present to your current company in January. Good luck!
I presented a letter to the president, which my supervisor was supposed to pass on. My supervisor says she wants to present the letter after peer reviews...so it's just all waiting. I'm applying for other positions in the meantime. But my work is very fulfilling. With inflation and an increased workload, I question if it's worth it anymore.
Bro leave my guy, this New York this shit come by the dime ah dozen
It sounds like you’ve covered your bases here and already know what you need to do if they can’t bump your pay.
You’re doing everything right. Leave if they don’t pay you more.
My advice is you should look for a new opportunity and take meetings with everyone, even if you’re not initially interested (all conversations are good conversations). My past experience is not unlike yours, except I endured financial compensation abuse for almost 12 years before I decided enough was enough. Companies no longer reward loyalty.
good luck! there is a company out there willing to pay you more for doing less.
In my opinion, 50K is not enough for the job you do. Your skills are valuable, so apply somewhere else, good luck!
