The summer internship in my experience was being in La La land and having minimal work. Basically just a lot of networking with the people at the firm, going to lunches, happy hours, and doing online self-study courses for much of the day.
The winter internship you’re basically thrown into the fire and expected to make real contributions. You may be capped at 40 hrs/week but everyone else that works there isn’t, so minimal opportunities to network outside of your work teams. You do get valuable experience though, and a better insight for what to expect when you join the firm full time.
If it’s possible work both a winter and summer internship. A winter internship will give you insight into the work life balance during busy season where a summer internship will give you insight into the overall culture at the firm.
You’re going to get a lot more out of a winter internship.
I'm sure you have great grades.. keep it up.. that is Paramount.. explore your options. You're too young to know what direction you wanna go in.
Are you a bot lol
