AWS cloud application architect. Had an on-site interview with AWS a few days ago and just got an email saying they want to talk to me about next steps. The role is cloud application architect but I want to ask them about the senior cloud application architect role. I have all the relevant experience for that role and feel like I’d be a better fit for that senior role. How should I approach this conversation? Is this even possible? Amazon

You start by doing a darn good job in your role. Get your security+ certificate. Wait for that internal job posting and have your manager and coworkers give a great reference. Most people only do the minimum for their job, so more, ask for more and be the person other teams know will get stuff done. I've hired a lot and always recommend people if I think they will be an asset. Don't be the one doing only what's asked. I know the whole I'm only going to do what I get paid for speal...but it doesn't help in the long run

Be the person people know gets stuff done and definitely expand the people that respect your work ethic. Most have about 3 real opportunities in life. Grab it when it comes. You'll get where you want. Might not be the first time but keep working and hold on when it comes. You sound like someone I'd love to have on my team
