Hiring manager said during first interview that my location / remote status doesn’t matter and he has no concerns with hiring remotely for the role. Use a a pen camera or a hidden camera(small) in your pocket before attending the call and record the call and events. These peoples should not be spared. Try to get some evidence and let’s expose to public media and other legal teams. You can do this anonymously thereby saving others from this crap.

I'm 4 years qaulfied & in an accounts based role with exposure to personal tax. Starting to feel my learning is slowing down. Due to acquisitions I feel like I'm falling down the pecking order and while I love it there concerned about my long term direction.

Ultimately I want to start up on my own and currently thinking if I use the next year to gain an tax based qailfication (ACA) looking at ATT?

Curiosity question - I’m a naturally very chatty senior and I’ve noticed that the staff 1s who are starting remotely and living at their parents’ home (which makes a ton of sense with the remote working) that I’ve been working with seem to want to chat about both semi related work stuff and non work stuff a fair amount. If you’re a staff living at home, do you enjoy having seniors who will chat with you about random things or would you rather just get your work done and log off?

I’ve worked in PA for almost 2yr and have got my CPA. However, there are times when I feel like my brain is so slow when understanding client’s JE flow esp when it comes to accrual/reserve and where manual AJEs are involved etc. I feel like understanding accounting in the context of audit is different from doing the actual corporate accounting. Sometimes I feel like a fake accountant LOL
