Disney Streaming Services I completed my interview process with DSS early last week, and was reached out by recruiter that all rounds were strong hires, and they are extending an offer. We set a time to talk on Friday about the offer. However, the announcement of targeted hiring freeze happened on Friday. I was ghosted with no call. What should I expect now? Would I still have chance to be offered?

Check out hiring.cafe. Best job board I've seen. Also, don't bother applying to a job that's more than a day old, seriously.
It's absolutely nuts out here. Best of luck!!!
It’s an employer’s market. The number of applicants for every job, all fueled with AI enhancements to make everyone look better, has truly made it a networking game from my viewpoint. It’s a zero-sum game, as so and so can make their referral look better despite both of you being the same on paper.

I was unemployed for 16 months, and during that time, I saw firsthand how much the job market has changed. I even lost out on roles where I thought I was uniquely qualified, only to look up who they eventually hired on LinkedIn months later to realize they were even more uniquely qualified.
To date, I’ve been rejected after 7 final-stage interviews for a variety of reasons. I’m now back in a role, and here’s my practical advice:
For every job, you’re likely competing against the top 0.1% of candidates. Even if you think you’re a strong fit, there’s often someone out there who’s an even better one.
It means this isn’t the time to pivot industries and go up against candidates with deep domain experience. Stick to your lane—stay within the enterprise or consulting space where your background shines, and lean heavily on your network to open doors. Apply to roles where you genuinely believe you can be in that top 0.1%, because that will be the only way you can beat the other competition.
Oh…and be ready for a marathon. When I first left my job, I expected to find a new one in 3-4 months with my level of experience. Boy was I in for a surprise.
