How many new analysts/associates can I expect for a GE fund to hire each year? I understand each firm/office has varying needs, but I'm struggling to wrap my head around why anyone would even consider T2 consultants, even at the consulting-friendly shops.

My previous work experience includes an internship at Google, and a summer spent working on open source (PostgreSQL) during Google Summer of Code. In addition to a lot of college coursework projects (CE major). Most of these projects are worth mentioning and they cover a diverse range of fields.

At what point should I drop coursework projects from my Resume/LinkedIn?

My partner is in corporate banking, but he wants to switch to a consulting/strategy-based role. I noticed people with those jobs typically have an MBA, and also majority of the job ads in similar roles has MBA as either a requirement or preferred qualification. So:

My company is giving me a reimbursement while I go to school. It’s capped to induce me to study part time. I decided to go full time. Pay the difference out of pocket so I can graduate quicker. Friend introduced me to a poc at a role I’d potentially be interested in, but background check would take 6-12 months. Just got promotion at current firm and feeling content to stay. I’d be interested in the other company in the near future, ie 1-2 years.

If I didn’t directly know the person, I’d interview to see how I do, but I don’t want to waste this person’s time for the time being. What would you do?

Here is my idea for a startup! I collect all the data from career transitions and use Data Analytics to predict the most likely career transitions. I could start with consulting. What do you guys think about this? I would be able to predict based on your firm(mbb, big4), your experience, which role you are likely to move (Faang pm, strategy manager, move to mbb). I have all the data to do this, but wanted your thoughts. Would the output of this be relevant to you?

Let's say I can't get a product or marketing job in tech, but I could get in via sales or customer success. Does working in those roles pigeonhole you, or is it easy to switch later? If you take a job as a customer success mgr for ads, or as a partnership mgr for learning solutions for industry X, are you going to get stuck in those products (ads, learning solutions), roles (CS, sales/partnerships), or target industry (X)?

I want to be in private equity because I want to make a lot of money. I want to be in FAANG because I want to do interesting work but make only slightly more money than I’m making now.

I had my exit last year. Landed at $260k TC… buuuut these new adjusted comp numbers coming out of consulting are making me do a double take.
