So they wanted to know if I was still interested. I said yes but I thought they wanted more lit experience. The recruiter stated “ideally yes but after the positive feedback from my previous boss they are reconsidering”. I said “thank you and keep me updated”. She emailed a little later and let me know that the partner over that group would really want someone with more litigation experience. Would it be crazy for me to email the partner and just ask what aspects of the litigation experience do I need/ are they looking for? This is a mass tort firm and I would be working on a mass tort cases so it’s not like they will be allowing junior associates to argue and take depositions. I feel as though all the other aspects of litigation aren’t that hard to learn. I’m a quick study. Please let me know what you’ll think!!
Yes, that would be crazy. Let the recruiter handle it.
??? I’m confused why you wouldn’t reach out to your previous employer directly in the first instance.
Well because 1. I didn’t know it was with them at first. 2. I reached out to my previous boss about it and the email got kicked back as undeliverable so assumed she didn’t work there anymore.
