I applied to be the CD for a creative agency I've been eyeing for a long time. I actually got the interview, which was shocking to me, considering I don't have the experience that an ideal candidate should have. I didn't get the job, but it was validating enough that my experiences in previous roles helped me get that first round. As a recruiter, would you give someone like me a chance at being a CD?

I’ve noticed that HR, when explaining why a candidate didn’t get the job, tend to lean on “You’re great, but we had candidates with more experience in [skill relevant to the job].” I do believe this is true in some cases, but it can’t possibly be for all of them.

Cold applied for an awesome role, had an interview with hiring manager, recruiter, and given a pretty hefty assignment that I’m really proud of nailing. They followed up with an email asking for 4-5 days that I am available for a full day of interviews. Gave them 4-5 days, started planning for how I’d get those days off work during insane times at current job, and now not a single word from them to confirm a date. Been over a week now. Sad.
