I can see new job openings being posted on the HSBC careers portal every now and then. However, my HR has informed me that hiring is currently frozen across all Business Units.

If hiring is frozen across all BUs, how are new openings still being posted on the career portal? Are these roles system-generated, pipeline positions, replacement/backfill roles,

Would appreciate insights from anyone currently working at HSBC or who has faced a similar situation.
