Where are you looking. Most fast food places around here pay more than that.
If you look, you will find the right job. Most of them start at 15 dollars per hour. If you have leadership skills, you can get $ 18 per hour.
Roughly $600 (before taxes) for a full two weeks worth of labor sounds so dystopian
Nobody who has rent, a mortgage, and/or property taxes to pay. I've got one job that if I didn't have all dead-tips shifts could get me through if I got 40 hours a week, but they won't give me that. I'm looking for a 2nd job myself, but somehow when I change jobs or add them it's a lateral move. Teenagers who've never worked before can find $15/hr base pay jobs part time and I'm in my 40s and have never made more than $14/hr in my life. Pisses me off; my home is deteriorating & I'm too broke to fix anything because I can't get enough per hour to pay basic expenses, let alone back taxes and home repairs.
