I caught a glimpse of myself in the hospital mirror at 4 AM and I looked like a background extra from The Walking Dead. The combination of fluorescent lighting, three-day-old scrubs, and a diet of vending machine Cheetos has really taken its toll. I used to care about my professional image, but now my goal is just functional and mostly clean. DO you still try to look human?

If you're really not taking care of yourself, there's more going on than letting your professional image slip. Change the scrubs, change your diet, and do what you can to get it together. If you're overworked and burning out take steps to deal with that.

I make the effort most days. Occasionally I'm just too drained to wake up for my normal 6 AM alarm and wind up looking haggard by the end of my shift. That said, I do still eat reasonably healthy and get a good amount of sleep each night. Sounds like you could benefit from making both a priority.

Agree with others, it is less about looking human but feeling human. It helps my mental health to get dressed and take care of myself. Sounds like you might need a break.

Any experience working @ Chad Jones law?
I’m currently discontent with my income.
(3rd year. Salary=80k and no performance incentive. I brought in $1.4mm AFTER partners claimed over half of fees on my big cases.)
I see CJL offers an incentive+ base but I’m curious about that structure.
Any good or bad firm culture to speak of?
Is it impossible to actually earn a respectable incentive bonus?
Am I going to have some partner come cut me out of any cases where I might actually make a solid fee?

Hey folks, need some help. I cleared all my interview rounds and had completed the documentation too. However for more than two weeks the status on the portal is "offer initiated". The HR says the delay is happening because the people who need to approve are on leave. Are they playing around or keeping on hold? Do they actually release offer after this much delay? Please share if you know anything about it.

Candid thoughts on the Ogilvy LA office?

I just got engaged on Sunday (!!) and my ring is just a little big. I’m reading online that most jewelers won’t resize a rose gold ring. Has anyone had any issues with this? I could go back to the family jeweler who designed the ring and would do it for free but the ring was designed in Michigan and I live in Chicago. Is it worth it to drive to Michigan to get it taken care of there?

What is the responsibility of an OB hospitalist to advocate for or against sterilization (specifically tubal litigation) if any? I had a very controversial experience with an OB that made me wonder how much we should be trying to influence our patients' decisions "in their best interest."
