Hi folks,
To those who are looking for a new job or have been affected by layoffs, Refermarket offers free credit to request a referral upon signing up. The platform offers referrals to companies that are still hiring and optimizes your chances of landing an interview as we match you to the most optimal person to put the referral in.
Website: https://refermarket.com/
P.S. Referrers on bowl can also sign-up on the platform as employee. Refermarket can provide an exclusive list of candidates to refer to your company.
Is anyone hiring anyone over 50?

I recently interviewed for L7 EM at Google and had 4 great interviews and one not so great system design. I submitted external referrals all of which gave great feedback. The recruiter said the next step is team match/interviews and then the HC. Anyone in a similar situation? What was the result? Google
My friend got offers from Rockwell automation, inc and Capgemini.
The offer iis 17 LPA fixed from CapG and 17.5 Fixed + 2.5 Variable from Rockwell.
He wants to work as consultant and CapG is giving him that and Rockwell is giving him Developer designation.
His yoe is 4.5y. He is confused about where he should join.
PS He is in IOT and isn't in fishbowl yet. He will be soon, but in the meanwhile, it will be nice if anyone can clear the confusion or recommend something.

Go with your gut. Sounds like you’ve already made your choice.
Which will bring value and fulfillment to your career goals. In other words where do you see yourself 5-10 yrs from now? What are your financial goals. 9K difference is $750 a month prior to taxes.
The delta is less than that when you consider the expense of having to work in that office.
Consider total compensation. Benefits and 401k match can add thousands to your annual comp. Also, cost to commute? Any other perks? Free legal care? Etc.
I would also consider strength of organization and culture..and which manager you felt more aligned with and could work better with.
Career growth opportunities is another one….where do you see yourself in 5 years? Which employer can help you get there?
I've seen benefits represent USD 40k difference between jobs. No 401k match, or that match is vested over 6 years? EE/family medical covered 100% or at 70% / 0%? high deductibles and OOPM?
That's not much of a delta. If it were me, and this depends upon your age and time in career, what role gives the best growth path?
I don't mind working in the office. I get really lonely working from home. That being said I would probably take the higher paying role.
The real question is, what do you value? Is the Law Firm LAA role or is Nonprofit EA more your speed?
Non-profit EA is a high title that translates to a switch further in the future, and nonprofits are more laid back however, sometimes taking on more responsibilities outside of their role.
Law firms pay more and have a name that could hold weight in the future. Also, don't take the fact they didn't pick you as a negative, the interviews are cutthroat at lawfirms sometimes.
Thanks — that’s really helpful perspective. I’m leaning more toward the EA role because it opens a new lane for me and gives me the chance to build closer relationships with the leaders I support. The LAA role is more of a team model, which doesn’t align with how I work best. Plus, I prefer the flexibility of WFH. Altogether, the EA position feels like the better fit for where I want to go.
My advice: go to the place that feels good in your heart, the one that when you think about it makes you excited and smile. Work-life balance is priceless, so assuming that remote work will allow you to have that balance, it's something to seriously consider, even for lesser money. Furthermore, working for an organisation with a purpose for me is quite rewarding... and last but not least, don't be anyone's second choice in any part of your life! Blessings and good luck!

Sounds like your gut is telling you! I would always trust it
There is no "mostly remote", unless they're going to fly you in once a month. WFH that constrains where you live is not remote.
Unless the nonprofit is NAMBLA, you will most likely benefit overall from choosing it.
