I decided to take a little time to heal myself this summer from what I felt was a stressful position with a firm that I really like working at. Had a great team of co-workers for the most part. But it ended up to be 'not a good fit'. So, here I am. I would like to work from home. I have applied for remote work from home jobs throughout the US. I just hope I get a chance to interview. Has anyone out there in a similar position that despite where you live, they will look at you!

Remote jobs seem to be really hard to find right now. Have you tried posting in the job referral bowl to see if you can get any leads in there? I would suggest it if you haven't already.

I'm sorry to hear about your stressful position, and I'm glad you took time for yourself. That's so incredibly important, and I commend you for prioritizing your mental wellbeing. As far as working from home, I have a hybrid position that allows me to work from home three days a week, but I have to be in the office the other two. Finding a fully remote position these days is like a needle in a haystack. They are out there, but they are incredibly difficult to find and super competitive! If I were you, I would prioritize looking for hybrid positions over fully remote ones.

If you have been at it for a while why not take your credentials and use those to get that remote position by getting a list of attorneys in every area you would like to work and send a resume to them yourself with what you would like to do remotely for them. If you have enough money, why not make yourself some business cards (and don't forget that DBA registration) and send your credentials and business cards out to these law firms. You can also drop it by these offices that are local. Start out with at least 100 and see who will take you on.
I like very much what I do.

Additional Posts in Paralegals

Paralegals: My firm is looking for a paralegal, and I see the job posting advertising the salary as $65-$75k, with benefits. Is this a good salary for a paralegal (Greater LA area)? I’m not the decision maker, but it’s been a few weeks with very few applicants. I’m curious if there’s something hurting the firm in its search.

I did it! I got an in-house Paralegal position after years of working and being burned out at different law firms. I was going to leave the legal field all together because I was so burned out and depressed, but I decided to give the field one more chance if I was able to go in-house. Prayerfully, this transition will be a good one.
