Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

Would you think that a good interview would be enough to overcome my non-traditional background? Took 6 years to graduate UG, had some pretty bad grades in the first half and transferred to multiple schools, but ultimately graduated with a 3.75. Unranked school, but strong personal story (grew up in poor single mother household, half URM, worked to put myself through college), strong WE ( 2 years tech FTE during college, 2 promotions in first year out of college from A>C), 329 GRE (169V 160Q 5.5 AWA)
Was the interviewer someone on adcom? Someone with power could make the case for you. Otherwise more difficult.
Am alumnus. I could see how an adcom member might have more sway than an alumnus interview
Honestly hard to say - Kellogg places probably the least emphasis on the interview given they interview everyone. If you were far better than the rest than obviously that increases your odds but its quite frankly hard to tell! Just wait for the decisions to come out and if doesn't go your way go and get a formal 'ding' analysis if you are keen to reapply
