Anyone have any good audit jokes or one liners?
Hello all, I have an offer from Quantiphi and another famous travel company which is building a technical arm for themselves. Both the companies are offering same compensation. HRs are calling for offer acceptance. I am leaning towards Quantiphi as the culture is well known to me.
But I have to decide soon. Should I accept both the offers and then decline one at the time of joining. I am new to this and find this a little unethical. Can someone help?

Don't think like your job is the only thing in the life. Do your work, get paid and leave the office work aside after your assigned hours and tasks are completed. Take care of yourself and family that's more important than anything else, your office people will not remember your hardwork after a certain period of time but your family and friends will always remember your absence, so please always do justice with your job but give required time to yourself and family members as well.
Hold on my friend. Just a couple of more years and you will start feeling guilty if you have not exhausted every possible leave by diwali and planned a no-pay leave for year-end!
Bhai Jitna jaldhi ubhar jaoge isse utna acha hai
The earlier you get out of this mindset better for you .
Take it easy.
Do you decline bonuses ? Or ask for a pay cut in your salary ?
Leaves are part of your perks why be guilty in taking it ? You yourself are creating an image a person who is always available etc etc, it won’t take you far, what will take you ahead is you prioritising yourself , people respect boundaries and use the one who is ready to be used.
I've had similar experiences. It could be because of how the manager speaks to you or your colleagues, culture of colleagues in taking leave, company culture, client's culture and more.
I would ask you to talk to a trustable senior about this to get their views. You'd feel less or no guilt after your senior assures you that taking leave is completely normal. If you have no senior that says so, then the company's culture is at fault.
My personal suggestion is this: Life is not all about work. If taking a day off to do something you like, or even if you feel like doing nothing, it is 200% worth it. The days lost working for someone else cannot be gained back with the money they compensate you with (it's also the reason why it's called "compensation" and not "reciprocation").
So go on, take leaves and enjoy the day off with no guilt, because we're no longer slaves.
Good conversation starter between you and your therapist.
When we get a job after lot of struggle, then we will have such kind of fear, its normal, it will go away as time passes
Start planning your leaves in advance like 1-2 months before the actual leave period and apply it in the portal. This way you'll feel less guilty and your manager will also appreciate it as you have given enough time for your manager to provide KT or find someone to handle your work during your absence.
Good companies encourage people to take off as it allows employees to recharge themselves. So you don't need to explain it to anyone. It becomes a problem when you ask for leaves during a critical work period, or immediately when you have deliverables, or when team bandwidth is low (other members are on leave) and you are the last one to ask.
I used to have same feeling in my early years. This feeling fades with time.
