I feel like I’m in a constant state of fight or flight with work so have decided to start entertaining new opportunities.
I had two interviews for promising roles and bombed both HARD. I set time aside to prepare, but wasted it…firefighting, caretaking and a good amount of daydreaming if I’m being completely transparent.

I have to pull out of this nosedive but am struggling with boundary issues both professional and personal, open to suggestions/resources!

Maybe take some PTO to work on your interviewing skills and catch up on any work that's been piling up (house stuff). Or you could quit and put yourself first 😅

Agreed! Maybe interview coaching can help you figure out the right way to tell stories etc. I do understand the instinct to self-sabotage, and I've done it myself. It takes a lot of work to get out of that mindset

like

Why do you think you bombed? It sounds like you need to clear your head a bit and learn to stand up for yourself. Id recommend finding a professional mentor or joining some networking groups to build confidence and find new opportunities

Have you considered that challenges in saying no and planning your work proactively might be what is causing your fight or flight state? It can be circular of course, in that this kind of stress makes planning harder, but get curious about the loop and where your power is. What is caused by your situation, and what is habit that you would just take with you into a new job? I got serious about creating boundaries when I realised I had been stressed by work for ten years, and that I had to change or I’d end up in hospital. The irony was that when I changed how I worked, I was happier and also more successful than ever, with promotions and responsibilities coming as a result. And I STILL leave earlier than many of my peers!

Ugh I hate having that fight or flight feeling at work. Don't give up hope. Applying for jobs really is a numbers game. THe more interviews you have, the better chance of an offer. Keep your head up and keep applying.

Hey fishes, completed 3 tech rounds at Bosch.
Last tech + managerial round was on 10th Nov. Got HR call on 17th Nov. Told my expected package and she didn't seem to have any issue. On 22nd Nov, got a call from the consultant at taggd who has been arranging all my interviews. Told my expected CTC and she seemed a bit surprised but didn't negotiate and asked if I have any other offers? I asked when can I expected the OL, she said within a week but didn't take any documents. Can I expect the OL?

Hi all

I am getting mails to report to office.
My base location does not have a hot seat.

Should this not be the focus from HR side to get a seat allocated rather than pushing employees to report to a random office that have a seat.?

And On top of that we have to take care of our own commute even when we are in shifts.

Why is this unprofessional and unethical behaviour?
Why is an employee responsible for everything which the HR and PMO is supposed to do??

Read that McK is paying 2K higher than BCG this year which means BCG will probably raise again next year to at least match. However, they can’t just copy McK with 2K to match because that would look bad so they’ll have to beat it again. Then McK and Bain will follow. Barring a devastating recession, I’m guessing this means MBB is all getting raises again next year?
