What are some publications, books, podcasts, online classes etc that can help me prepare for my first year in consulting? Have 5 years of experience in finance and making the jump to consulting.

I am a CPA based out of Canada. I have 7 years of corporate finance and FP&A work under my belt. My fiancé will be starting dental school in NZ by Feb’23. Aiming to be a direct flight away from her, I have started looking into work opportunities in Australia. Can any expat here share their experience with getting a job as a foreigner? Are there any recruitment firms that specialize in working with expat talent? What was the biggest culture shock moving to Australia?

India offer is 10% more as compared to Poland one in terms of CTC, India offer has handsome joining bonus and stocks as well

Guys, i have an offer at Accenture. I'm concerned about the probation period - 6 months with another possible 3 months.

So how bad is this in terms of job security? What are the parameters they monitor during this period?

Quarterly, I have a performance review call with my Market Executive and until today never heard anything negative… my growth is slower than I’d like and definitely I’m sure that’s why, but today he said last time “they” wanted to give me a letter of education and he talked “them” out of it. After some research i decided to get into Cloud Computing. I've done Microsoft Azure course and cleared AZ 104 Certification for Azure Administrator.
But because of my Sales Experience my profile is not getting shortlisted.

Has anyone considered shifting from consulting to teaching? Doing PhD from top IIMs and working as faculty?

Looking for advice on what types of reports/data are most convincing to senior leadership for keeping staff on who serve internal functions (knowledge managers, intranet, content specialists)- I fear these are the positions which will be lost/replaced by contractors. I want to improve my quantitative skills so I can be more succinct. Any recs for skills I should learn? Can I leave my biglaw job 3 months before my COA clerkship? Not sure if it will look bad or like I have a gap in my resume. I’m going on 2 years at my firm and I can’t stand it. I was in audit for about 4 years then switched to provisions. I’m now 7 years in and want a more steady schedule. I like the client aspect of public accounting, flexibility and mentoring/training younger associates, but feel pretty meh about tax in general. Just finished my first year in audit. Recruiter reached out to me for a role with a 30% bump in salary. Total comp included it gets closer to 45%. I actually enjoyed my first year and especially being done with busy season now feeling pretty good. Not at all actively looking to leave, but just looking for advice on if I would be crazy for not pursuing an opportunity for so much more money at least a little further. Really what I care about is my long term career more than anything
