Any Analysis Group fish willing to share your experience the company? I am a current business school student exploring opportunities with the firm post-biz school Analysis Group. Are the cases at the interview similar to that of other firms/casebook? I understand on the high level what’s the difference between AG’s project versus traditional strategy shops but wonder if you can elaborate on this.

I once read this file that I assumed was a well prepared analyst report only to figure out later I has authored it. You're getting old and dumb. It's time to get promoted, rely on your smarter, younger colleagues and start selling.
Burnout
Trust me, I'm experiencing the same. Cut back on the booze, read more internal decks, get more deep sleep, meditate, audit a university course, and/or improve the intellectual capacity of your social circle. You're going to have to work at it now that you're older and the environment you're in is likely less intellectually curious and conversational.
Agree with K1- as an analyst I could spend most of a day on a few slides Of course it looked great. Now if I get 30 mins between meetings to put something together, that’s a win. The issue is sustained, concentrated focus. Multitasking is a myth.
I look at old decks I created and have to remind myself that I created those decks as they all seem so good for what I think I can do now. I used to be excellent at quickly coming up with intelligent responses and easily performing above avg without trying. Now, I’m struggling. I’m not sure what’s happening to me, but I’m really sad about this. I don’t know how my brain can be shutting down so quickly. What could this be? Any thoughts? What can I do to get things back?
Booze and sleep
Feeling exactly the same. Sleep deprivation from new kid for me. Having really hard time
Thanks for all the tips. There are definitely things like mentioned that may be the cause. Ex, burnout, not enjoying my current project, feeling demotivated, feeling like my passion lies elsewhere, and that I’m not being challenged in my current role etc. I will go to the doctor as some of you recommended to discuss this.
Drinking? Not joking. If alcohol is a regular part of your lifestyle it can effect many things (energy, mental sharpness, confidence, etc)
Did you start taking any new medication or stop taking medication? Also is it because you have no time to make the decks? I find now I’m a manager I have little to no time to do any actual work and all of it is administrative bs and dealing with people
Maybe you need a vacation? Might be burned out
I feel the same and I’m worried it’s a brain disorder.
Happened to me 1.5 years ago when I lost interest in the job ... And now feel like ive lost interest in any job, nor just this one
Maybe the project just is not a good fit.
Or go be miserable in industry...
Or.,please don't laugh. You've been eating too much. Cut down on your food intake and eat only when you're hungry. Eating too much of processed food can affect one's mental clarity
Get blood work done. Could be any number of things. Hyperparathyroidism is one. High calcium level and high PTH levels are indicators. Very easily treatable and is severely underdiagnosed
In our industry the most likely cause is burnout
OP, how old are you? Aside from the natural effects of aging, I agree with the posts above—you could be sleep deprived / burnt out, side effects from meds or hormones (if you’re female-birth control, menopause, etc), or perhaps stress from various aspects of life (personal and/or professional?) have there been any changes in the past 6 months since you noticed a difference? Demanding travel schedule?
M1, I have been feeling the same as well. Is it because you're distracted by something else, say starting your own business, or just feel like it's all not worth it after all you've had to go through to get to this point? Or am I totally off base here?
