Yes and no. The real losers in the talent war vs FAANG are the traditional destinations for engineers and scientists - industrial manufacturers, pharma/biotech, aerospace, infrastructure engineering, etc.
I would imagine IB has been a loser too. Definitely lost share among top UG talent in the past fifteen years

I actually think more people, especially UGs, are interested in consulting compared to a decade ago. Very few people at my Alma mater even knew of consulting as a career then and now it’s a common first job. I do think less people view consulting as a lifetime career or even 5+ year career though because of WLB and the fact Tech offers equivalent/higher pay, better WLB, and the potential for a huge cash windfall with RSUs
I don’t think so, I think MBBs and consulting in general is coming under fire for WLB and culture issues more recently - but for undergrads, they still recognize the value of being in a structured environment for the first few years of their careers to learn skills like collaborate in a large org, building up their internal brand, and how to have well thought out opinions (and communicate said opinions external to clients). That said, they won’t hesitate to leave the moment that all the other factors make it not worth being there.
Yes but entry level pay has increased significantly over the past few years to account for that
Most MBA programs publish job reports showing what fields their grads went into. That could be a good place for you to start
