You earned this. Imposter syndrome happens because you’re doing stuff you may not have done before. Just know that it wears off within the first year as you learn more and more. Believe in yourself and embrace the growth mindset.

Plant controller in a lot of manufacturing companies basically means senior cost accountant or cost accounting manager. Based on you post I assume you’re relatively inexperienced in terms of years, don’t freak out, your leadership knows that too and they won’t rely on you on critical decisions, just keep doing a good job and ask questions - you’re not expected to know everything just because of a seemingly fancy title bump.
I have about 8 years total experience - public accounting and industry. But some of the controllers of our other locations have 20+ 😅
You got this!!! Remember how you felt when you got your very first accounting job/internship?? This is the same thing. Do your best. If they didn’t believe in you you wouldn’t have this role. It’s already yours. Just believe in yourself MORE than they already do.
Figure out what’s being done currently and why. That will buy you time to put the responsibilities into context. Resist some asks that have no cost benefit. Folks love having information, but rarely use it. Keep focused on what’s important day to day. Enlightenment is earned not magically imparted.
Ask questions and reply in your own words what you thought you heard. Learning to talk and think the way your colleagues do will help close the gap
Drive it like you stole it and don’t look back!! Your own lack of self-confidence sounds like your biggest obstacle. As others have stated, you’ve got this. You’re smarter than you think you are!!!!
To gain confidence you can to build a mountain of evidence so large you can't ignore it.
Part of this means putting in more work. Part of this would be putting together your accomplishments/wins/learnings. Then review every now and then.
