Is it misleading to just look at Total Compensation from a $ dollar value/ Total Compensation seems to be much more subjective than base salary in terms of its value. Some factors might be:

RSUs granted on dollar value or by # of shares & stock price trends
Vesting schedule
strike price on ISOs & delta between strike price and real market value

For instance, most of value in Amazon's comp seems to be granted in years 3 & 4, but it's well known that most people last only 2 years max there.

I am on OPT and looking for H1B sponsorship this year, recruiter said they will do it but I am wondering if I join after 2 weeks will they be able to do it as there won’t be much time left. At what point does the value of a degree fall off? I'm in my early 30s, and have five years of experience, and work on a very theoretically interesting project. I believe I'm on track to promotion in the next year. So, I could put in a year of full time school to check the box off, but I'd be sacrificing hobbies and social life (not to mention cost).
