When starting a new project

I received an email from the HR at Monitor Deloitte that I've cleared the case round and a back to back discussion with partner and director of the team will be scheduled. Been almost 3 days since this email, haven't received asking for availability from the scheduling team. This for a role with their Lifesciences Strategy practice in the UK. How long do they typically take to schedule the final round of discussions? Do they eliminate candidates in this round?

Happening more often these days. Given the economy they know they can low ball everyone and someone decent who’s desperate will accept.
You were well within your rights to negotiate. Any company that punishes you for that is showing you a big red flag.

That’s very weird, have never heard of that happening. Maybe they thought it was an ultimatum?
That’s unusual, I haven’t encountered that before. I don’t think it’s solely about the negotiation itself; they may have interpreted your counteroffer as an ultimatum, like “take it or I’m out.”
This isn't wierd or unusual in this economy. Remember by the time they made the offer, they finalized approvals, etc. In a normal economy countering would be easy, but with the tightening of the market, the budgets are more fixed.
If you want the job, and the pay is good enough, take it, otherwise risk losing it.
I had a similar experience. The whole interview process took around 3 months. After the first interview, they completed ghosted me ; I followed up with the recruiter twice and got radio silence. And then randomly , 1.5 months later I get an email for a second interview. I canceled my travel plans for this interview thinking it’ll be worth it. It’s a big company and apparently “one of the best places to work at”. The interview went well. I got a call from recruiter the next week saying I got the job. She asked for my expectation for compensation and what I suggested was higher than what they wanted to offer. So I tried to negotiate politely. The recruiter was okay to go back to the hiring manager with my counter and also told me to take as much time I wanted to think over the original offer while she takes my counter to the manager. What I asked for wasn’t even unrealistic. Next day I get an email that there is a business shift and suddenly now the job needs another language requirement and they are shifting the job to other countries. I believed I was well within my rights to counter and also take some time to think about the original terms. It felt like a poor excuse by the company just because they felt they can hire someone for much cheaper from another country. This is a very big tech company and I didn’t expect such behaviour from them.
