I have a client whose wife passed away in 2019. The estate went through probate and their house was sold in 2023. Proceeds were distributed to the beneficiaries. He was designated as the personal representative of the estate. Was he required to file a 1041 in 2023?

P.S.: He hasn't filed any returns since 2019.

Why wouldn’t he have needed to file

He needed to file, he simply didn't do so (the reason behind that is probably above my pay grade).

Is the client one of the beneficiaries? Maybe file retroactively?

Yes, he is a beneficiary as well (as surviving spouse).

Okay finance lawyers. I don't understand this issue. Client says books show we're highly profitable but we have no way to pay our tax liability.... Well where the hell did tbe money go ? Client also claims that they are only taking a small portion of the revenue as profit. I don't understand how your books can be different than reality.

HCL Technologies offer being delayed and recruiter keeps saying that there's a problem with their "Offer release portal system." I have already stated my issues with relocating until after I have the offer signed and ready. The project is supposed to start on the 19th and I'm supposed to join before, or on that date. It's already coming up soon and I don't have the official offer so that I can confidently start the relocation process. Has anyone else recently dealt with this?

I know they’re busy, but I would like to address this in a positive way. Any suggestions?

Went from a big firm to work for a smaller firm. The people in the smaller firm are protective of their work and are good by their work too. I no longer feel chaos or stress. I am treated with respect and my schedule is more normal. I am even working more billable hours than before, but it feels like a seamless experience. I don’t work then past 5pm or anything out of the ordinary for this time of the year. I am so grateful!

It’s been more than 10 days and multiple follow ups but still no response. I don’t think I was rude while talking to the HR, I just told my current salary and asked for min. that no.
