I have about 4 years of financial services working in random positions at companies like Goldman and JPMC. I’m 9 months into my first year of consulting at a lower tier consulting firm.

Any suggestions on types of companies/roles I should be looking into? Not looking to go back to investment banks as they pay poorly. However, consulting just isn’t it. The only think that keeps me here is my salary of almost 100k. (Was making 50k before)

What the F do ACDs in NY make? 3rd time I’ve spoken to a recruiter, gave my range (approx $155k) and heard “Gosh that’s high.” I’m a 10+ year NYC professional approaching 40...you gonna pay me 80k?

I have observed that people on testing domain or frontend are getting better pay than other new tech domains like blockchain, cyber security, data sci etc(4-11yr exp) .
For less than 4 years experience new tech job gettig good pay but others getting very less.

In dev job Java, spring r etc getting better pay. Also some SAP consultant are also get paid high.
Is exp people in testing/frontend dev are less due to which they getting better pay than others with experience.

Should I specialize in Blockchain or AI? I’m a freshman in a CS degree and I can’t decide. My main argument to choose blockchain is the easy entry with little experience and high salary, I plan on growing my skills during the bear market and get a job once the market recovers. How common are credit checks for roles in accounting or finance positions? Will high utilization on credit card balances and low credit score be a deal breaker?
