Hi Fishes, Pls help,
YOE: 13 yrs
Cctc: 13 lpa
Have cleared HCL interview. Initially they offered 23 lpa (via proposed offer letter), but i requested to reconsider it for 25 lpa.
After 5 days, they sent final offer letter of 19 lpa (stating they can offer max 50% as per L4 approval).
Queries:
1. Is this normal or rare case, reducing the offer amount from what quoted initially?
2. Should I accept or negotiate?
I don't have any other offer as of now.

Bain & Company I’m currently prepping for Bain & Company and McKinsey & Company interviews scheduled in the next 2 months. For those that interviewed with both, how would you suggest I tailor my preparation for each one? I understand McKinsey is interviewer led while Bain is the opposite. But other than that, is there anything else I should work on separately for each one?

You’re fine. I’ve passed people who told a story from high school.
Thank you very much. Ok even if I have work experience?
OP - have you done volunteer work? Leading volunteer efforts are great. They can easily show personal ownership, entrepreneurship, impact, etc.
FWIW my boyfriend just got an offer for the same role and mostly relied on college experiences - though he was insanely involved and had a lot to talk about. If you’re in a similar boat, don’t sweat it too much. You’re already at BCG, clearly not slumming it :)
I think it’s totally reasonable to rely on college stories if you’re still a year or so out. It’s also a COVID year so not like it’s easy to develop virtually, they get that
If you don’t mind me asking why are you making the move from BCG?
OP is in an admin role and honestly it’s much unfortunately much harder to go from a business services roles to traditional consulting track at the firm then it is get a consulting role at BCG
Don’t be afraid to use experiences from college, especially for a business analyst position
Even as an experienced hire? (For context I am not a consultant at bcg)
I interviewed with McK two weeks ago and got the offer as an experienced hire a year and half out of college. 3 out of my 4 stories were from college and in fact they were all from the same extracurricular organization. They were vastly different stories, but point is don’t worry too much about over relying on college experiences as long as you are within two years of having graduated.
