Guys, Off the topic !
I bought a flat, but it didn't come with 4 wheeler parking, so I had to park on the street outside the apartment. However, the builder still has three closed parking spaces available. Could anyone recommend a negotiated price or a percentage off the flat rate for covered parking?
Thanks.

You may not be doing anything wrong. It is an exceptionally rough job market out there, especially for admins. Some jobs have as many as 500 applicants! You might want to have someone review your resume, not necessarily a professional writing service. Contact your state unemployment office. They may be able to refer you to some resources where you can get help with resumes, interviews, etc. Most of those services are free or very low cost.
Good advice which I am lucky that it is only me in my household as I have no idea what I would do if I had others depending on me while also dealing with unemployment.
Hey Courtney, we are in the same boat. You're not doing anything wrong. I've been unemployed for 8 months now. Same situation with applications, interviews and being ghosted. I guess we're supposed to try and keep going. Don't give up.
I had the same thing, I ended up contacting a recruiting agency, most places these days especially in Biotech they contract to hire; they want to make sure you are a good fit. So, while you are contracting you can still look for another job, the downfall is when you work as a contractor they typically don't pay as well.
I am literally in the same boat, 5 months, 100’s of applications, nearly as many rejections, if it wasn’t for selling items on FB marketplace idk what I would do. It’s either I’m over qualified, don’t have the proper experience, or I get ghosted after the 2nd interview. I recently started doing Walmart Sparks. Maybe look into that. I hope things improve for you Courtney. Best of luck.
I am sorry to hear that although we are also dealing with a bad global economy, job market, and political climate.
You could be having difficulty and low results for multiple reasons. Have you checked to make sure your resume can get through AI / ATS? Are you customizing / tailoring your resume to the jobs you are applying to with also the keywords and phrases? Are you being systematic in your job searching? Are you applying just to postings on job boards or are you also applying directly to company websites? Were the 3 meetings interviews with hiring managers or were they just screenings with a recruiter? During your screenings / interviews, did you ask questions, act confident, send a thank you note?
I would suggest having your resume looked at and also take the time to go through some YouTube videos by recruiters to help with bettering your job searching and interviewing.
Yes, I’ve done all of the above it nothing has stuck. I have interviews with the hiring managers and told that I will get an offer, then I am sent the generated email stating that they went with someone else. I am very strong at interviewing and always look who I am talking to in the eye. I even like to end with asking when I can hear from them again to really show my interest in the position. Nothing had worked for me. I even had AI re-write my resume twice to see if that would help any and it hasn’t.
They say if interviews is where you are failing then it's something you are, or aren't, doing. There are interview coaches, which are $$ but a few have a lot of good videos on LinkedIn or YouTube. Check those out. Erin McGoff is amazing and has a new book out any day. I did a free intro virtual thing from a high end job coach, well above my pay grade but she had advice about how to make "warm" connections networking online. Networking is key. I spoke with a recruiter and he said its absolutely who you know, having someone pass along your resume is key. Also, I dont knoe what field you are in, but he said contract working is the best way in. Companies are scared to hire permanently right away. In the meantime, find somwting to get money coming in. Good luck.
You’re not doing anything wrong. It’s a tough job market. I think I heard someone say it takes the average person six months to a year to find a new job now. Plus, there’s probably hundreds of people applying for every job you are.
It honestly wouldn’t surprise me at this point. I feel like AI is taking hundreds of jobs and there’s not enough jobs to go around.
I’m really sorry you’re dealing with that. Being laid off and trying to support a family at the same time is incredibly stressful. Sometimes the issue isn’t your qualifications but how competitive the market is right now. It might help to have your resume reviewed, tailor it more closely to each job description, and try connecting directly with hiring managers or recruiters on professional platforms. Don’t give up. Many people have gone through long stretches like this before landing the right opportunity.
I have seen that there are many people in my boat, so it honestly wouldn’t surprise me of how competitive the job market is. I’ve had AI redo my resume twice now in hopes that it would help. I find that it really hasn’t. I just pray that God reveals to me what his plan is for my life and where he wants me to work soon. I’m tired, lol.
