I have been in this field for 15+ yrs and my current employer has made me want to change careers completely. They charge outrageous amounts for cases ($20k-30k+ for divorce and custody cases). They don't care about the clients or the employees who are not attorneys. "hourly" employees get no recognition and get paid virtually nothing while attorneys who are not even meeting their requirements get promoted and are paid over $120k per year.

Go work for a firm doing litigation not family law.

If they attorneys are only making $120,000 per year, you’re not at a large enough firm. Big law firms pay paralegals more than that and have great benefits too! Time to make the move.

Agree that a different speciality may be a great change. But if you are ready to go, then it might be time.

I know that people say it’s all about story, but with a certain gpa/gmat score is there a “floor” that you’re safe on? For example would someone with 4.0/780 (not me) be pretty much assured at least 1 M7? Or is there a reasonable chance that all M7s will reject them? Or is their floor just lower (T15 for example)?

I write economic loss reports. Am I allowed to give a redacted sample of my written economic appraisals to a recruiter? If so, what specifically should I redact.

I did it! I got an in-house Paralegal position after years of working and being burned out at different law firms. I was going to leave the legal field all together because I was so burned out and depressed, but I decided to give the field one more chance if I was able to go in-house. Prayerfully, this transition will be a good one.

I am a paralegal interested in making the jump from litigation to Worker's Compensation. I don't have recent experience in WC but recall it was a lot of form work. Any Worker's Compensation experts here that can offer an opinion (is it a heavy lift) and run me thru some of your daily activities? I am in New Jersey. Thanks!

I’m currently a bankruptcy paralegal. Not sure I want to stay in bankruptcy forever. I’ve heard it can be really hard to change practice types and break into a new area of law. Anyone have experience or tips/advice on doing so?

Are there any fully remote lawfirms, ie you don't have to live in the state they have offices? I recently left a large lawfirm to go in-house which came with a huge paycut that is not going to be sustainable long term, but needed a remote position to be able to move. I'd like to keep my current job part-time but get back in a lawfirm too.

How do you know when it is time to move on. I am the only litigation paralegal billing over 2,500 a year consistently. Love the boss I work the most for but that person has grown distant. Staff reviews were supposed to be complete this week and no one has mentioned mine. Underpaid by about $30k per market value. Torn and confused.
