I am 36 and took out 80K out of the 200k in my 401k due to unforeseen hardship (pretty upset that I lost the before tax ROI which I’ll never get back). I have a rental property, a primary home with mortgage, and no other investment (sold all my stocks due to the same hardship). Any recommendations as to how to build back up (other than maxing out 401k each year)?

I’m a 28F who is barely getting into investing. It’s frustrating that it took this long but as a first gen college grad, my parents didn’t know anything about this stuff until very recently, so naturally I was never taught about it. It’s crazy to see people younger than me with all this knowledge on saving and investing. How did you learn so much at such a young age? Any advice for someone like me who is starting out so late in the game?

Just got an offer from a growing private company for an FP&A analyst role. 2 YOE at Big 4 plus CPA. They offered 75K plus decent benefits. No 401K currently (told its in the works for 2021) or bonus. Its their final offer. It’s a MCOL. I like the people I’ve met but the only thing holding me back is I feel like I should be making at least 80K plus a bonus. Do y’all think the offer is reasonable? The recruiter said not many companies hire someone directly from an audit background for this role.

Campus recruiters at professional service firms — has scheduling final rounds changed in a virtual world for your firm or do you still try to schedule your candidates on Fridays with a full day of back to back interviews? Is it easier or now preferred to schedule ad hoc through the week? I was on maternity leave last year during COVID and I’m curious if preferences for students (or interview teams) have changed? I would still think the former/old way is better from work planning perspective.

Will they ask money from us once we are selected , or take money from the company which results in our package reduction ?

Big4 company wants me to tell my current employer (big client) that I am intending to join them and sort of get a soft approval. This is before even giving a written offer.
