My dad's a senior software architect getting 35 lpa for 18 years work experience in cognizant. His tech stack is AEM and he has worked on angular and Java Projects as well. Since he is getting underpaid a lot ... Hopefully someone can refer him Adobe or some product companies. Even service company with good pay also is acceptable

Pls don't hesitate to return the laptop , you didn't ask them to send it in advance.
Secondly , only consider startup if it's fully funded and you will be working in their product not for some client or body shopping kind of scenario.
Mostly lots of micromanagement is there in most of the startup, hectic work environment sometimes without gaining much in terms of learning.
There won't be any process as it costs money.
Couple of questions first and some food for thought..
1. Does 16 lpa include variable? If yes how much. Prefer startup with no variable pay or esop as these two are mere gimmicks and you never know till when the job lasts. Well this is not to scare you, if I were at your place I would accept startup jobs as the learning you will get there in 1 year is same as 3 to 4 years in big MNC. Thought many times you may not have senior folks to guide but in today's YouTube world who needs to learn only from seniors the important part is whether the job allows you to experiment with whatever tech you have selected and startup will give you that env and authority.
2. If I assume both ctc are fixed even then 3 lpa is not a major difference considering you are falling under 20% tax slab and after pf, gratituty deduction its will be mere 10 to 12 K difference in Inhand salary.
3. Considering your exp anytime you go in market you will get a job, much better is save 3 to 4 months expenses in a liquid fund or fd and be free, anytime if you loose a job in startup,i m sure you will get another one in that time. Focus on learning opportunity and skills, it's easier to work 14 hours when you are young and not married or kids than try to be up-to-date in market when you have 12 yr exp, family, kids etc. So the idea is burn yourself more during young age, earn more, save 70% of in hand atleast and learn and grow.
4. Always know your market value, try to earn as much as you can during initial years, don't worry about wlb, job security etc. rather always be prepared for interviews, keep practicing even when you don't want to switch.
All the best and good luck.
