Location plays a big part in whether or not someone accepts an offer. I would love to take a role out of state but I don't have the resources to move out of the state and companies don't want to pay relocation expenses these days.
I've had varying lengths of commute. I've done very long, 2-3 hours, mid-range 30 min-1 hour, and much shorter. The short commutes make a HUGE difference in quality of life. I have an 11 minute commute currently. The ability to go home and attend to pets at lunchtime is important to me. What is important to YOU? We all have different needs.
Location is definitely a big factor for job seekers. I wouldn't say it's a major factor considered when offering a job. But of course if they were located very far away currently during the hiring process I'd want to know if they're planning to relocate or what plan they have.
