Finally found THE one, after over a year of searching and trying out at least 5 different ones!

My criteria: mesh seat and back, arms, headrest
I tried cheap ones from Amazon. Expensive, second hand gaming chairs. Tried HM Aeron (second hand) and while I didn't like the bulk and the general design, I was sold on the mesh seating. I wanted to get the ErgoChair 2 from autonomous, but it doesn't have mesh seat.

While interning I was relegated to a closet with no AC, no windows, or airflow in the summers in the south. I’d see nobody for whole days at a time. I wore shorts only visible when going to the break room. HR told me I can’t wear shorts.
HR also came in to the room one day and was like “omg it’s so hot in here how do you stand it” and I looked her dead in the eye and said “why do you think I wear shorts.”
Honestly in hind sight was probably some kind of violation on their end in the sense it was literally a sweatshop.
But in a normal setting? Who tf is wearing shorts to the office unless you’re on your way to the office gym.
I take it you have never worked in the tropics. Khaki shorts can be just the ticket, especially accompanied by a fetching sola topee.
Even as a Floridian, shorts are a no for me in the office. It’s always weird. 🫠

I think women are better at judging the boundary of good taste.
I don’t really notice the detail of what they wear but I guess they must wear tights often, of longer skirts and dresses.
I used to work at a large high tech manufacturing company that allowed shorts, skirts, tee shirts and flip flops even - the guideline was - you should be covered ‘decently’. Of course, interpretations differed but we didn’t have any ‘wardrobe transgressions’ that needed policing. But this wasn’t a consulting organization - purely internal facing with B4 consultants hovering around us. I’m sure the sales and marketing folks were formally attired when meeting their customers.
