Hi EY, Thanks for asking
1. Unclear goals
2. Communication gaps
3. Not giving free hand , micro management
4. Hypothetical deadlines
One should clear doubts / communication gaps by asking a lot of questions to the manager/ function head you are working with.
First two years were exciting as we were building the brand from scratch. But in the last one year it got boring and i lost interest because of multiple reasons -
Same kind of work, nil budgets to do things differently, everyone thinks and tell you what you should be doing instead of asking for what should be done, vindictive & vicious new manager led to no new projects coming my way, laying off my direct reportee and given basic execution kind of work.
The good thing is i have got a good opportunity and will put up my papers tomorrow.
Keeping my fingers crossed on the new role.
If you have a recently started working with her, i advise to wait and watch a few weeks. Later, You can ask your manager on the tactical steps she has on her mind and seek her understanding on execution. Ask her opinion and follow-up on emails, weekly connects, etc.
Do getting bored sometimes count? Maybe getting bored is also an indicator of the quality of ask one is working on.
Bowl Leader
Oh yes. Getting bored does count - it often happens to me that I find some work (which to me seems high quality, better impact, and visibility) more interesting and rewarding than some other work. I second you on this, I get bored very easily if I know for a fact that work is not going to get very in terms of helping my team/stakeholders comms or branding goals.
Thank you for bringing up this amazing question
1) feel underpaid
2) ignored no matter what is done
3) kiddish feedback
