I hover over the send button like it’s a live grenade. One wrong reply-all, one misdirected email, and it feels like your credibility could implode. I reread everything three times, still convinced I missed something. It’s wild that we work in a profession built on constant communication while living in fear of the simplest action. How do we operate in nonstop email mode without being terrified of the send button?

Bro…either you need to relax or get a new job. Your email recipient is human and doesn’t expect perfection

likefunny

Really bad advice. Do not relax. Continue to be vigilant.

Literally almost sent a “Kind retards” my first week as an associate. Drafted basically all my emails in a blank email with no addressees before copy/pasting for my entire career.

funnylike

Haha 🤣 priceless.

You’re absolutely right, and I know that now (20 years later), but I wouldn’t have heard it as a week old associate.

You should use AI to reread emails before sending. Will usually catch the stuff / tone a human review won’t

like

Oh this one is easy. Set a 10 minute delay on all outgoing emails.

like

Agree, I was on my way to comment this! I have a 2 minute delay which is all I typically need to go back and read it 4 more times lol

like

You can recover from email mistakes, as long as you don’t send emails to the wrong people. I’d suggest you focus on double-checking identities of your recipients. You should also proofread the message, but you are going to have a typo or two every once in awhile. It’s not the end of the world.

like

I taped a sticky note checklist to my computer to double check certain things before sending. You can also set up a timed delay that allows you to cancel the email within a short time after sending.

like

Yep. That’s how it goes

like

The more reps you get, the better you become at understanding what is relevant and what is just noise. For typos and stuff, read everything out loud and then also check via AI before sending.

like

I got an email recently where the guy (my colleague) misspelled his name. It’s all good. People understand we are human.

Now do I have nightmares of doing that? Yes I do.

like

Pick up the phone. We are all tired of emails.

Don’t call me I hate that

like

Even when the email is perfect, it can still blow up your case and your life because some people are deluded and unreasonable. So, do your best and know that even it all craps out, you are tough enough to get through it.

Hi ME 🐠s! Would like to know a bit regarding Business Analyst roles in MBB, T2 / B4 firms in UAE. I come from a target school in India (say MBB / T2 hires from my college every year) with ~1 YOE in consulting - based in Dubai. Would the stated firms consider me for a BA role (lateral hire as an experienced BA)?

Given my other life responsibilities, this is creating a huge strain & I feel like this is slowly getting harder & harder on my spouse & kids.
