I joined a mid scale company back in September for same salary, same skill set & same experience as yours, I got offer from IBM later they are offering me 30% hike on my current package but I'm not accepting, I have decided to work for atleast 1 year for my current organization. I think you should consider the same, money is going to increase anyway.
Better to survive a year after which you can switch. Would look much better in your resume that way
Definitely go for Wipro. First thing first, its a 7lpa increment and no way should you leave it. The reason - These salary jumps matters a lot than on surface. If the profile is similar and company are of similar stature, it is always recommended to go with higher pay. Lets say you leave IBM after 2 years with 17LPA .. The salary you will draw at that point will be 25-30LPA. But with 22LPA at Wipro.. you could deaw at least 30-35lpa.
Secondly... You will have satisfaction that you are earning a good amount accoridng to your YoE. Lets say in next 5 monts, you get a project which breaks your work life balance ... you will always keeo on thinking, atleast I would have got better money at Wipro even if I had worked there with higher pressure. Your YoE matters. and so it should be Wipro.

Thanks for the response....Yes... I will keep in mind all these factors... does make sense this.
You can join wipro
It is giving good hike and as per your yoe it seems really good
Pro
Thanks for the response...btw... how much do you think the in hand salary will be considering variable pay?
Don't think too much. You are getting at least 5 LPA more as fixed in Wipro. Its around 25+K more in hand salary. At your experience level, you can definitely go for it. Plus you may have a chance to get a better tech project, altho' dont depend much on that before joining.
You can go for Wipro. Nobody will ask any question about your short stint with IBM when you'll switch next. This is common. Also you can return to IBM any time later.
Just dont abscond. You are on probation, so have 1 month NP, so follow the resignation process.
All the best 👍

Thanks for replying... yup...some very valid points

I was in Wipro and they will give you 100% of your variable pay if you are in support or in billable position which is always until you are on bench. Medical is a very small amount is it doesn't matter. Plus whatever you are paying, wipro will match that amount and will give you a yearly medical coverage - say 20k (this is different than mediclaim - which covers hospitalization as well, which is also there just like any other org) yearly which you can reimburse if you buy medicine, or just go for doc check ups and spectacles as well. It is pretty decent I would say and you should take it. Work wise, wipro is doing good, infact they have good projects and if you have any modern technology then you will easily get lots of good project but yes pressure will be high which is expected during this pandemic time. Stay in wipro for few years and then switch. In future any org asks you why you left IBM so early, u can say the work they gave you was not aligned with your field of expertise and you were locked into that project for next x years or something. Done! Nothing to worry about.
What reason did you share with Wipro for switching?
Pro
I said... project was not aligned to my skillset.
Btw how much of the variable pay does Wipro give roughly?
Don't switch. In the long run other Org will Q you and you'll not have any reason.
Moreover they'll look at your Pre IBM salary - Post IBM salary and see that you jumped from 10LPA to 22LPA
Pro
Hmmm... that's why I am sort of confused.
My IBM management is pretty decent....but Project is pretty monotonous and non-technical.
I am getting a decently technical project in Wipro... but not sure about management or work culture.
So yes... I'm pretty undecided right now.. 😅
Job market isn't going to be lucrative for very long. Switch and make some money while you can. I don't know IBM or Wipro but if it pays more, you can switch. You can make up some reason to explain a quick switch later if needed.
I worked in Wipro in 2008. I always got more than 100 percentage of variable pay quarterly. I was happy
You will get approx 141893 (tax will be deducted from this)
Approx 20000 will be income tax, although it totally depends upon your investment.
Note : I haven't included bonus and variable part in this
Please let me know if you have any doubt
Pro
Hmmm yes... although right now in ibm probation period notice is 30 days.
Go for it
Make a switch...either you should be getting good money or working on something that is too good a project...if both are their then it is icing on the cake...if none then better switch
Switch, no harm imo
I think Wipro is better than IBM in terms of work culture and appraisals. Nowadays no one think over whether you have switched jobs frequently or not. If you are good at your skills then you can make a move within a year as well.
If you are not satisfied with your work life, please switch. You don't give your best if you work with unsatisfied role and pay.
22L is a good no. In your case and according to me no company is looking at employees consistency now a days.
Good luck man!! Think wise and take a good move.

I would suggest wait for 1 year and switch. You will be directly getting around 27 -28 with 8.5 yoe.If you are ok with the IBM project then it's fine.If you feel that IBM project is not worth learning then u can switch..choice is yours
Wipro is not in a gd condition project wise. Salary what u have mentioned is 22 lpa where medical, gratuity are included. It's better to join that company who are having their benefits on top of their CTCs.
To get an approx value on in-hand CTC salary multiple your salary by 0.70.
Is it includes tax deduction?
Can you help me connect with that wipro recruiter 🤪 tell him I can settle for a little less since i have 5 yoe
After 22 you may get 28 but with 15 it will be 22 and yeah liss if 7 lakkh incurring as well. Money helpss..
