I just began my job search now. A lot of emotions and thoughts are running through my mind. I'm currently away from Toronto and plan to be back in January 2025 with a new job. As an undergrad, I struggled a lot because I didn't have any "Canadian Experience" as I was an international student. It hurts when you know that you're capable of doing something and you want to give your all but because you haven't worked a relevant job in the country, you get shunned.

I’ve been working for a small investment firm for about a year and am having some issues with my boss. We have a weekly check-in but he’s ALWAYS 2-3 hours late, or skips the meeting altogether without warning. He also never replies to any of the emails I send. Senior engineer making 135k and I was offered a promotion to engineering manager after completing a development plan. Near the end of the plan and I expect compensation talks to start soon.
