Absolutely as soon as possible. On top of you still remembering more schooling, likely if you just graduated, you probably have some of the most free time you'll have. Kids? Getting further in your career (promotions, management, etc.)? Outside organizations? I found I had fewer and fewer free hours as I aged, more stress and responsibility, and it takes longer and longer to study as you forget things.
Sooner rather than later. It's too easy to keep putting things off for a day or two, and before you know it, much more time has passed, and the knowledge you gained has become fuzzy. Once it's done, it's done. It takes time and commitment to get there, but everyone is right. Push through, and get it done if you can.
Do it sooner while everything still fresh, you wont even need to study that much comapared to doing it later. For me I just signed up and didnt get time to study but I went to get the feel for it exoecting to fail and ended up passing ( because I did it within6 months after graduation)
While in college my Controls professor was a PhD and over 20 years of experience, and decided to take the FE due to all the free time from covid and he said it was much more difficult remembering simple things that were easy back in his undergrad so it's never too late but it's never too early either!
Make it a priority, you are young enough and have your whole life ahead of you. Dont procrastinate! The PE license will get you typically $10K or more in salary, not to mention better employment opportunities, so keep that in mind.
