The new company I’m at now sent me an email from an email address that was HR@companyName.careers saying I was accepted for the position. They gave me paperwork to fill out and sign to accept the position
I fill out the paperwork and send it back to them and it goes through… then a few days later I go back to the email to say something else and I get this…?
Then today I got a check from the company In the mail to setup my home office, and it’s signed by someone I’ve never met before or heard of…?

Take some time to detox before jumping into recruitment mode

I did the same, several years ago. In fact When I did, I changed my career altogether.

Same here. I struggled a bit to find my path, but it was worth it.
It’s okay. You did what you felt was right. Sometimes a break is much needed and better than being in a toxic environment. Best of luck with the future job search. I hope you find something you love!
I have also been there. It is stressful at first--uncertainty always is. But it will work out.
Congrats! I did the same a while back and it was the best feeling. Enjoy some time off.
Congratulations!! It takes a lot of courage to do what you did and you should be proud for standing up for yourself and leaving what wasn’t good for you.
I did this a month ago too and went through all the emotions: omg what if I don’t land a job? How long will I be dipping into my savings for? Did I do the right thing? Gosh that was a big decision and I feel so scared of the unknown.
Breathe! Take the time, like others said, to detox. I still wake up with anxiety after a few weeks. It takes time for our bodies to know they are safe again. Also, apply for jobs, and network with old employers or friends to see if they have any openings at their work. Things will work out and you’ll be ok :)
Good for you! I dream of this every day but have a wife and child, and think about how I’d support our expensive lifestyle
Oh man, I just made a post about this. I’m doing the jump in like a month (haven’t given notice yet) so you’re a bit ahead of me. But the nerves are starting to get real.
I told everyone in my life that I’m doing it and started sabotaging myself a bit at work (not in major bridge burning ways) so that I won’t be tempted to change my mind.
Are you me? Doing the same thing haha
I’ve done this a few times and might do the same very soon. If you have the money to last you a few months go for it. Never once have I regretted leaving a toxic situation. Trickier situation if you have dependents and little savings.
Good for you. Enjoy
Power to you! Good will come
