I am glad someone finally said it! I have been noticing this as well. It makes me think that they aren't actually hiring for these roles.
Rising Star
Could be or perhaps the budget for it has to been frozen but either way just do everyone a favor and take it down
My guess would be it's a ghost job, a position a company posts but has no real intention of filling. The reasons companies do that can vary, according to articles I've seen about the increase of ghost job postings. The most common reason seems to be that it makes the company look like it's doing so well it's constantly hiring, when the reality could be quite the opposite.
I have noticed companies outsourcing jobs to "cousin companies " but have ghost job listings to divert attention.
I completely agree with you.
It could be that they are trying to refresh the ad and do not want to pay to have it posted. Many companies will do this. However, if the company has this many roles open than I would agree that it is a red flag. It is also a red flag if the roles don’t seem to get filled. It is one thing if they are refreshing the ad once to bring it to the front after a few weeks the ad goes cold.
This!
Agreed 100%!!!! Not only does it send the wrong message but it also sets the tone in regards to those of us who are applying for said job posting to think it's actually a fake ghost job. Very rude and very unprofessional
I agree completely !
Thus happens all the time
Maybe it’s ghost jobs. I heard companies post jobs that are not available so that current employees will work harder thinking their jobs might be at risk.
How about those candidates who apply and don't show up? That seems to be happening more and more as well.
I just saw the same thing, I was curious. This job I really wanted so I re-applied. I am seeing this often, tho.
Fishing. And companies also do this when they want to show the outside world that they are growing, or they are doing better than most others!
In some cases, they're refreshing old job post to have candidates lined up. However, I once had a position that sit open for 1 year because the pay didnt match the qualifications.
