I keep hearing "Al won't take your job, but people who know how to use Al will." How true do you think this really is? I think it's plausible but I'm skeptical. I'm also curious if Al will evolve as a tool, like Excel, that everyone needs to know how to use.

Given the number of failed use cases, is being an early Al adopter a good thing? What advice do you have?

I would say for the everyday person, between the everyday vocabulary of prompt engineering, the personable approach of AI agents, and the lack of any sort of repeatable advantage we still have in any AI product, combined with the bubble-like financial actions that companies are taking amongst each other, I think it’s fair to say that we as a collective do not really have a great idea of where anything is going and probably won’t for a while yet. There’s also a lot of companies that need to either consolidate or go away. We’re still just in the initial investment phase of all of this and working really hard to try to find something useful And predictable and reliable.

I think the way forward is for most people to just get a basic sense of what’s out there and maybe keep your finger on the pulse of what’s going on in the news but all of these ideas about where the economy is going and where jobs are going to go is several years if not decades down the line in my opinion. Pretending that processing power is just gonna grow exponentially with absolutely zero impact or correction or need for something tangible is where a lot of these fear statistics are coming from, and it’s not enough evidence, in my opinion, that anything for sure is going to go in any definitive direction, or down any foreseeable path. We don’t really know what this even is yet.

Hello, I am a junior business administrator working in advisory operations. I have been with the company for 6 months, and was employed along with 2 other colleagues. I have picked the job up really fast and am even doing some “extra curricula’s” I really love my job. However I have recently found out I am being paid the same as an apprentice on my team, I usually do at 3 x the work he does whilst also doing my Cert CII. It has really disheartened me and I feel I should be earning more money

I’ve been working for my State Farm agency as a team member for 2 years. I am licensed in property and casualty as well as life and health, but only make $13 an hour. I technically can make bonuses but I’m not supposed to dig into a sale and I have to send it to a sales rep (I am service and retention mostly). My boss also has me running a retired agents office until a new one is chosen (its an hour away with no pay increase or mileage pay). Also, no benefits! Should I start job searching?

Hello everyone ,
I’m currently working in insurance customer service at an agency. I work in the mortgage department assisting w mortgage changes , payments etc. I’ve been thinking about becoming a claims adjuster most likely for property damage . Is it worth it ??? I hear a lot of talk about how claims adjusting is a lot of work and very demanding but I think my current position has prepared me for the challenge. What are some good companies I maybe should apply for after getting my license?
