I've been fully remote for 14 years with various agencies and in house marketing set ups. I do travel for quarterly meetings, but that's it. I'm gone if the demand was 5 days a week in office. No question.
Yes. My office was forced back a while ago and many of my coworkers resigned to work places with hybrid schedules, and I am actively seeking to leave. my Office is a slightly different situation because we have to pay a for parking, so returning was effectively a pay cut. But on a more general level, child care is expensive.
If you have kids and were able to save money working remotely, then being forced back into the office could be a massive hit, and in Many cases with no justifiable reason from the employee‘s perspective since the remote model has been working for years at this point.
Yeah, that's kind of the situation I'm in. With the cost of childcare I'm not sure I could afford to go back to an office.
I'd start looking. 3 dyas in office would be my absolute max. My time is money and with WFH I can easily work 40 hours most weeks and sign off. You can't do that when having to commute - and while i love debating/chatting with people, I find that the productivity loss is huge and results in working longer hours just to get everything done.
