I love recruitment and excel at it—but finding a role in the Netherlands as an English speaker is tough.

Despite years of experience and proven results, not speaking Dutch often closes doors before I can even start. Skills, passion, and a track record of success shouldn’t be limited by language. I bring dedication, creativity, and ready to contribute immediately to a team that values expertise over native language.

Unfortunately the only real solution is to learn Dutch.

One of my friends worked in Rotterdam for 8 years and only gained success once they learned the language.

Otherwise you could try and freelance or work remotely for English speaking companies but these opportunities aren’t too easy to find.

If you can’t speak the language of the people you are trying to recruit it makes sense as to why you are finding it hard to get hired. Same as if you didn’t speak English and came to the US to try and find a job that required communication skills.
Even if you could get by, it would be hard to provide a positive image of the company if you are unable to communicate effectively.

You are right, and i completely agree.

But that applies when i look for Dutch companies.
But all am looking for are international companies, that requires English Speaking because 90% if not 100% of hires will be abroad.

But the rejection comes always because the staff in the Netherlands wants someone to talk to in Dutch.

I mean common, the role is international and the company is international.

Anyway, thank you for your comment 😊.

There's some missing context here, mainly, your current location. Please share your country of origin to provide appropriate context for those here who may have advice.

Even without that context, my recommendation would be to learn to speak Dutch if you want to work in the Netherlands. Not to be harsh but recruiters are a commodity. If companies in the Netherlands are looking for Dutch speakers and you don't meet that requirement, there are hundreds of people lined up behind you who do.
